CONNECTIONS AND UPCOMING EVENTS

The Eastern Utah Tourism and History Association's Co-Directors Darrin "Bobcat" Teply and SueAnn "Miss Kitty" Martell will be at Ascension St. Matthew's Church on January 22, 2016 for a fun night of outlaw talks and debauchery! You will meet such characters as Butch Cassidy, Elza Lay, Matt Warner and Clarence "Gunplay" Maxwell. The evening is open to everyone at Ascension St. Matthew's Church and their families. An authentic cowboy style potluck will be served at 6:30pm with the presentation following, so dug out your best dishes to make! Call Barbara Warren for more information.

The Annual Shrove Pancake Supper is early this year so mark your calendars for February 9th, 2016. It will be held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Donations will go towards our Outreach Programs. Prices are $5 per person or $20 a family.

Office Hours: 9:00am-1:00 pm Monday thru Friday

Resident Pastor Bill Bruggeman's office hours are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 9:00am-1:00pm. He will be available at other times as needed. Please call him to make an appointment at 210-391-3530 or leave a message on the church phone at 435-637-0106.

The Power and Light children's program meets every Wednesday at 5:30pm to 7:00pm. P&L will resume January 13, 2016 after the holiday break. The children will be studying the 23rd Psalm this quarter. Please invite all children pre-school age through 8th grade to attend. We have dinner and Bible study with songs and exciting activities to fit each night's theme. If you wish to help, please sign up on the sign up sheets to help up with meals, programs or activities.

The Annual Congregational Meeting will be held after Worship Service and Potluck on January 31, 2016. Please plan on staying as we approve our annual budget, elect new members to the Governing Board and delegates to our annual Lutheran and Episcopal conventions.

Adult Bible Study meets every Sunday morning at church at 9:00am. We are studying The Sermon on the mount. Come join us! 

Choir Practice is every Thursday at 7:00pm. Choir will resume January 21, 2016.

Spanish Class meets every Wednesday at 7:00pm. The community is welcome to attend. 

Church Women meet on the third Monday of every month at 7:00pm.

Theology on Tap meets every first Tuesday of the month at Grogg's at 7:00pm. Come enjoy good food and lively discussion.

Crafters have resumed meeting on Fridays from 9:30am to 11:30am.

The Children have reached their goal through the Noisy Offering campaign to purchase four milk producing animals (a goat, a sheep, a water buffalo and a heifer) for third world families. The project is through The Heifer organization's "Cheeses of the World Gift Basket". Way to go kids!!

New sign-up sheets for 2016 for flowers and coffee hour are in the Great Hall on the wall near the door. Worship helpers are needed for January (training is available). Please sign up on the sheet in the Narthex.
