Ascension St. Matthew's has called Pastor James Locke to be our new pastor. Come welcome Pastor Jim and his wife Samantha.

Governing Board will meet September 12th at 6:30pm in the Music Library.

Choir will be meeting  again on September 1st, 8th and 22nd at 7:00pm. We are always looking for new members!

The Women of the ELCA (WELCA), Rocky Mountain Synod, will be convening in Cheyenne, Wyoming this year for their 12th Biennial Convention. The theme is Called to Serve-Called to Give-Called to Love.  The dates are September 16-18, 2016.  More information on the convention can be found at You can also contact Jan Young (new WELCA Board Member) for more information and registration materials. There are also scholarships for young women to attend. 

The Church Women will begin meeting on September 19th at 7:00pm. We will elect the new officers for the year and discuss programs for the year's meetings.

Adult Bible Study meets every Sunday morning at church at 9:00am. The study is an in depth study of  Paul's letter to the Romans. Come join us!

Our Power and Light program will resume Wednesday, September 14th at 5:30. The Power and Light program meets from 5:30 to 7:00pm. This is an ecumenical Christian education program for all children from ages 3 to 12, so please invite your children's friends to come join! For the kick off, we will have a pizza party, a bee story, a craft, and fun and games. On September 21st, we will start our regular program with the story of "Jonah and the big Fish." We will also be starting a new "Tweens" group that will meet right after the light meal. See you there!!

Our Annual Fall Fare will be held Friday, October 7th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and October 8th from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Food and the Silent Auction (lots of great baskets will be available to bid on) are the two main events! Home-made soups and baked goods will be on hand for sale. We will be serving baked breakfast casseroles on Saturday starting at 9:00am! A portion of this event goes towards our Social Outreach program. Come us for a good time!

The Carbon County Chamber of Commerce will be having their monthly luncheon meeting at Ascension St. Matthew's on October 20th.


Office Hours: 9:00am-1:00 pm Monday thru Friday. Our Administrative Assistant is Randee Schultz

Pastor Locke's office hours are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings from 9:00am-1:00pm.  Other appointment times can be scheduled with Pastor Locke by calling his cell phone at 435-630-1069.

The Gift Shop is open on Sundays mornings from 9:30am to 10:15am and after fellowship hour or by making arrangements with Pam at 637-2921. NEW items are added on a regular basis.

Church Women meet on the third Monday of every month at 7:00pm.

Crafters meet on Fridays from 9:30am to 11:30am. The group is currently working on items from home. If you wish to help, Please contact Pam Adams.

Sign-up sheets for 2016 for flowers and coffee hour are in the Great Hall on the wall near the door (training is available). Please sign up on the sheet in the Narthex.
